An annual event dubbed as an advocacy pageant and pageant with a cause, Miss Philippines Earth pageant chooses a girl who can be an Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns in the country, and be the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant.
Tonight, at the Mall of Asia Arena, hosted by former Miss Earth Karla Henry, former Miss Philippines Earth Sandra Seifert and former Miss Philippine Earth runner up Ginger Conejero, another lady was given the crown and the task to promote environmental awareness campaign for the country.
And from the 47 candidates, Miss Olongapo City Angelee delos Reyes emerged as the winner as she took home the Miss Philippines Earth crown. The 25 year-old Marketing Head who aims to “raise awareness on the potentials and challenges for water cooperation, promote solutions for nurturing such, its benefits to us, and what role we can play to be part of such great cause, we can encourage people to share not just knowledge but water itself, until such time that all of us knows how to manage our finite and fragile water, ensuring benefits for all” bested other ladies all over the country and other pinays from the Filipino communities abroad. With that, delos Reyeas will now be the country’s representative to the 2013 Miss Earth Pageant and will carry the role of being the ambassadress of environment in the country.
