With that, delos Reyeas will now be the country’s representative to the 2013 Miss Earth Pageant and will carry the role of being the ambassadress of environment in the country.

It can also be noted that it may have something to do with UNA’s protest against the proclamation.

In fact one senatorial candidate Dick Gordon penetrates inside the realm of social media as the hashtag #IpasokSiDick became viral spanning different social media platforms and getting on top of worldwide trends in twitter.

The hashtag #IpasokSiDick was started by RX93.1 DJ Karen Bordador. She was the one who encouraged her followers to tweet and trend the topic not only for fun but as a show of support for Dick Gordon. And she didn’t fail as it easily went viral not only on twitter but also on Facebook where many of people shared their own funny messages containing the hashtag. MEMEs of Dick Gordon also flooded Facebook feeds and it really brought lighter mood on a very stressful and disappointing result of the election.

Based on the top 12 rankings, Team PNoy candidates dominate the race with 9 Senatorial candidate making it in the top 12, while UNA candidates got 3 slots in the names of Nancy Binay (5th), JV Ejercito (11th) and Gringo Honasan (12th).

It may seemed impossible for the admin to get the 12-0 win because the other 3 Team PNoy candidate is currently placed in 15th (Jun Magsaysay), 17th (Risa Hontiveros) and 20th (Jamby Madrigal). But nonetheless, this can be viewed as an affirmation to people’s trust with the Aquino administration and trust to the President.

Other areas also were marked by election related violence, like the Cayetano-Tinga supporters brawl in Taguig. In Cavite, Revillas were investigated by the Cavite police for alleged cuddling of armed men. Meanwhile, in Manila, some armed men were also captured by the police for violating election gun-ban, because they were seen roaming Rosauro Almario Elementary School carrying firearms.

At exactly 7PM, voting precincts have closed with exemptions to others who were already in the vicinity before the 7PM cut-off time. And after it has been closed, Board of Election officers started to count and transmit election results to the COMELEC servers.

For the Senatorial race, former MTRCB chief Grace Poe-Llamanzares of Team PNoy leads the pack of senator hopefuls. It was a bit surprise because she ranked lower in the surveys before the election.

Supreme Court Spokesman Atty. Theodore Te said the high court issued a Temporary Restraining Order against COMELEC’s Minute Resolution No. 13-0322. The new COMELEC resolution extends the previous 2-day liquor ban into a 5-day period as an answer to MMDA’s request for a 45-day liquor ban.

That resolution was opposed by the Food and Beverage Incorporated and International Wines and Spirits Association, Inc in SC through the TRO petition saying the COMELEC have exceeded its jurisdiction in creating new rules on liquor ban which can cause undue damage on their businesses.

With this recent decision, can’t help but think, is there an ongoing cold strife between the SC and the COMELEC? If you could remember, this is not the first time that the SC strike down COMELEC’s resolutions aiming at revolutionizing our election system. The Supreme Court also stopped COMELEC’s resolution on limiting new airtime caps on political advertisements, the order to take down Bacolod Diocese Team Patay and Team Buhay Tarpaulins, and the flip-flop decision on Imus, Cavite Mayoralty post.

I am in no position to question the intellect and wisdom of the SC magistrates, but at the same time I am very supportive of what Chariman Brillantes is doing in the Commission on Elections. The reforms he’s been doing right now is what former COMELEC chairmans should have done before.

From that period, starting at 12:00AM of May 9 to 11:59pm of May 13, selling of liquors or any alcoholic beverages will be prohibited. And based also on Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 any person found guilty of violating this code shall “be punished with imprisonment of not less than one year but not more than six years and shall not be subject to probation. In addition, the guilty party shall be sentenced to suffer disqualification to hold public office and deprivation of the right of suffrage. If he is a foreigner, he shall be sentenced to deportation which shall be enforced after the prison term has been served. Any political party found guilty shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than ten thousand pesos, which shall be imposed upon such party after criminal action has been instituted in which their corresponding officials have been found guilty” (Section 264).
