Summer is officially bidding goodbye and welcoming the rainy season. And what a welcome it is with the 1st typhoon entering the Philippine area of responsibility.
In the latest press briefing by PAGASA this afternoon, Ambo (with its international name Mawar) was said to be moving north-northwest direction at 15 kilometers per hour (kph). Public storm signal no. 1 has been declared over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Polillo Island, Aurora and Isabela. Ambo is packing maximum winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Meanwhile, Chief of PAGASA’s weather division said, Ambo is not expected to hit the lands but is expected to bring heavy rains for the next few days which is expected to measure between 15-25mm per hour. Typhoon Ambo is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility late on Monday.
