OKC Thunder gets the Western Conference Championship, moves to NBA Finals

After leading at the first half, I thought the Spurs can salvage this game to extend their series to a do or die game 7. But the Thunders, in front of their home crowd proved that young bloods lasted longer than the experienced.

It was in the 2nd half that Durant led Thunder attacked the basket to close the gap. After trailing as much as 18 points lead by the Spurs, Thunder bounced back with the help of their duo Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook. Durant contributed 34 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for Oklahoma’s 107-99 win. Westbrook on the other hand produces 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

On the part of Spurs, it was Tony Parker and Tim Duncan who contributed the most. Parker scored 29 points with 12 assists and 3 rebounds. Duncan who also had a great games posted 25 points, 2 assists and 14 rebounds. Stephen Jackson’s great 3 point shooting also helped Spurs in preventing OKC to pull away further. He contributed 23 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.

Now that OKC Thunder already moved to the finals, they will just have to wait for the result of Miami Heat and Boston Celtics Game 6. Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 is scheduled on Thursday (Friday morning in Manila) in Boston.

If Boston win, NBA finals will be a battle between NBA Finals 1st timer Oklahoma against the experienced and championship hungry Boston. If it will going to be Miami, then it will a battle between 2 NBA young stars Kevin Durant and LeBron James for their 1st ever NBA Championship Ring. NBA Finals Game 1 is schedule to be on Tuesday June 12 (Wednesday morning in Manila).
