After sealing a trade in deal with the Phoenix Suns, veteran point guard Steve Nash will soon be wearing the purple and gold jersey. The contract was slated for 3 years with the amount of $27million. In exchange Suns will be getting Lakers 2013 and 2015’s 1st round pick and 2014 and 2015’s 2nd round pick.
Nash said one of the considerations for his transfer is to be closer to his family (his kids particularly) and a chance to get the elusive championship. Nash has been 2 time league MVP and was influential in Sun’s several finals stints, but he has yet to capture an NBA championship ring. New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks also tried to sign him in but decided to go with the Lakers and play with Bryant.
With Nash’s addition to Lakers, he is expected to add maturity in their plays, one that they missed after letting go Derek Fisher. Let’s just see how Nash and Bryant will teams up and work towards getting another NBA title.
