South Korea moves up to #3 in London Olympics Medal Tally

After 6 days of competition in the London Olympics 2012, South Korea now edges France in the medal ranking. The #3 spot which was previously owned by France is now being occupied by South Korea.

South Korea now has the total of 7 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes while France got 6 golds, 3 silvers and 6 bronzes. The host country Great Britain follows at the #5 spot with 4 golds, 6 silvers and 4 bronzes.

Meanwhile, China still continues to dominate the medal standing with the total of 32 medals, 18 being gold, 10 are silvers and 4 bronzes. China is followed by the Olympic favorite USA at the #2 spot with 31 total medals (14 golds, 8 silvers and 9 bronzes).

With more than 1 week to go before the London Olympics close, there are still no certainty to which country will be this year’s overall champion. More medals will still be competed and will be given away. And there are still more sporting dramas that will unfold. Hope our country Philippines will be posted on the medal tally with even at least 1 medal count. Let’s hope and pray.

Below is the complete medal tally as of August 2, 2012:
