The biggest shocker in boxing world this year indeed is rightfully to be named as the Knock-out of the Year by ESPN.
Boxing fans all over the world especially the Philippines were all shocked and at awe when the 8 division Filipino champ was knocked-out cold on the ring by it’s finest and longest adversary Juan Manuel Marquez. It seemed that the world stopped rotating for that moment when Pacman was down on the ring not moving.
That knockout victory by Marquez became the decisive ending to their 4 series fight which previously had controversial decisions.
Other notable Knock-out victories this year based on ESPN’s list were, Mikkel Kessler’s 4th Round KO against Allan Green last May 19 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Nonito Donaire’s 3rd Round KO against Jorge Arce on Dec. 15 in Houston, Danny Garcia’s Round 4 KO against Erik Morales II on Oct. 20 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Shinsuke Yamanaka’s Round 7 KO against Tomas Rojas on Nov. 3 in Sendai, Japan, Randall Bailey knocking out Mike Jones in Round 11 last June 9 in Las Vegas, Adonis Stevenson’1 1st Round KO against Jesus Gonzalez onFeb. 18 in Montreal, Gary Russell Jr. Round 3 KO versus Roberto Castaneda on Nov. 9 in Indio, California, David Lemieux’s KO on Round 1 against Alvaro Gaona last Oct. 12 in Montreal, and Angelo Santana’s 5th Round KO against Juan Garcia on Nov. 16 in Miami.
