It’s Showtime edges Eat Bulaga on Christmas Week

itshowtimebarkadaAfter 3 years on air, ABS-CBN’s noontime variety show It’s Showtime edges the longest running noontime show in the country.

It’s showtime beats Eat Bulaga on Nationwide ratings last Dec 24-29, 2012. This is great achievement for the show after being previously reported to be axed and replaced. The show hosted by Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Joe, Karryl and Vice Ganda with Jugs and Teddy, Kuya Kim, Eruption, Ryan Bang, Collin Garcia, Jhong Hilario and the kids Baby Joy and Baby Red, finally gets the attention of nationwide viewers according to Kantar Media’s National TV Ratings (Urban+Rural).

Based on Kantar Media’s report, ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime wins the rating game on the Christmas week except on Christmas Day (Dec 25, 2012) where Eat Bulaga led by 0.2% at 10.2% vs 10.4%.

Here’s the comparative data of It’s Showtime vs Eat Bulaga for the week of Dec 24-28, 2012.

It’s Showtime’s success can be attributed to the success of its pre-programming which also dominates their own time-slots. Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap’s Be Careful With My Heart continues to rule the nationwide daytime rating, while Judy Anne Santos-Agoncillo’s Pinoy Masterchef is also beating its competitor.

With the re-entry of Willie Revillame on noontime via his new show on TV5 Wowowillie this January 2013, can It’s Showtime sustain its momentum. That’s another thing to watch out for, which will surely make noontime programming more exciting.
