According to the National Statistical Coordinating Board (NSCB), the country have posted the highest GDP growth under the PNoy administration in his 1st 2 years in office as compared to the 1st 2 years of his 4 predecessors. Based on their data, Aquino admin posted 4.9 GDP growth in his 2nd year which is the highest among the past 4 Presidents. Fidel Ramos’ administration scored the least growth at 3.4.
However, NSCB Secretary General clarified that GDP growth or non growth cannot be attributed only to the President and his economic team. Although it represents the work of the President and how his economic team managed the country’s economy, there are also other factors that can affect its growth like economic crisis.
PNoy also posted the highest growth in the Service sector at 6.7 compared to Cory, Fidel, Erap and GMA’s , 5.1, 3.4, 4.3 and 5.2 growths respectively. But he scored the lowest rate in the Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing sector at 0.1 wherein Erap posted the highest at 5.6. And on the Industry sector it was Ramos who gained the most at 4.3 with GMA at the least at 2.9.
