San Antonio Spurs recaptured the lead, 3-2 (NBA Finals)

One more win and they will be crowned again as NBA world champions.

Coming from a lost in their last game, the San Antonio Spurs came in determined to win today’s game being their last in their home court at AT&T Center in San Antonio Texas. Spurs’ coach Greg Popovich made a good decision in putting one of his big stars Manu Ginobili in the starting 5. Ginobili put a valiant effort in winning this game contributing 24 points, 2 rebounds and 10 assists. Danny Green who also scored 24 points is also a key factor for their win having 6 out of 10 3-pointers to capture the finals record for the most 3-pointers.

It was not a totally lopsided win though, since Miami Heat closed the gap in the 3rd quarter. With Wade’s jump shot at the 3:05 mark in the 3rd, Heat was able to clinched a 1-point game deficit at 74-75. But with Green’s 3 points and Ginobili’s jump shot and free throws, the Spurs was able to pull away again.

San Antonio’s lead star Tony Parker led Spurs’ scoring with his 26 points,1 rebound and 5 assists. He is also 80% in the free throw department having 6 out of 8 points from the free throws. Tim Duncan on the other hand dominated rebounding with his 12 total rebounds (3 offensive and 9 defensive) of the game. And he also contributed in field goals with his 17 points.

Meanwhile, Heat’s big 3 has combined 66 points (25 James, 25 Wade, 16 Bosh) but not enough to win a back to back game. Ray Allen also posted a good game with his 21 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Speaking about their loss, Heat’s head coach Erik Spoelstra said “It just snowballed down the hill [from then], and we couldn’t control it. And so we just didn’t show the mental resolve that we needed at that point.”

With Spurs only needing 1 more win to capture the title, will the confetti fall down in Miami in favor of the visiting San Antonio Spurs? Or will the Heat even the series again and extend it to one more game in Game 7?

Game 6 is scheduled on Tuesday June 18 9PM ET (June 19, Wednesday 9AM Manila Time) at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
