Philippine Stocks exchange is again back on its “groovy” feet. After closing to its highest (for this year) yesterday at 6,852.81, PSE’s main index set a new record high again today (for 2014) as it closes higher by 0.40% than yesterday’s close. The PSEi closed today with an additional 27.63 points at 6,880.44.
Metrobank leads the most active stocks with the value of 842,483,903.00 but with 0.00% change, followed by Ayala Land Inc. with an increase of 1.88% at 772,301,410.00. Top gainers in today’s trading were Pancake House Inc (19.08%), Globalport 900 Inc. (12.64%) and DoubleDragon Properties Corp (10.90%).
Other indices in the green zone were Industrial up by 0.71%, Holding firms (0.05%), Services (0.32%) and Property (0.77%). the broader All Shares index meanwhile went down by 1.23 points or 0.03% to close at 4,134.75. Financials is also down by 12.04 points or 0.75% and Mining and Oil by 167.68 or 1.01%.
Despite today’s good standing of the main index, decliners overwhelmed gainers by large deficit at 119-59 while unchanged is at 51. Market analysts says it’s due to profit taking.
Total volume turnover was 2,340,552,600 with the value of 14,047,016,103.
