Gilas Pilipinas had a good start in their Asian Games 2014 campaign after scoring their first win against India Tuesday (September 23) afternoon at the Hwaseong Sports Complex in Incheon South Korea.

The Philippine National Basketball team beats India 85-76 to continue with their Asian Game 2014 campaign in Incheon. Gilas is led by Jeff Chan and Marcus Douthit who both scored 14 points.

Philippine team was able to dominate the game in its early minutes leading India with as much as 19 points. But India was able to run a good comeback towards the end, endangering Gilas chance of a winning. It was the “Mighty Mouse” Jimmy Alapag who extinguished the fire of India’s run, thus capping-up the game for Gilas with 9 points lead.

Next assignment for the Philippines team will be FIBA Asia’s reigning champion Iran, scheduled this Thursday September 25.
