Binay tops latest SWS presidential survey

After dropping points on his approval and satisfactions ratings in Pulse Asia, Vice President Jejomar Binay remains the top preference for the Presidency.

In the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS) from November 27-December 1, 2014, VP Binay tops the list of names perceived to be President Benigno Aquino III’s successor in 2016.

Binay got an average score of 37% meaning, almost 4 out of 10 Filipinos preferred him to succeed Aquino. Following Binay is Senator Grace Poe who scored 21% in the survey. Poe started to climb in the ratings in the last quarter of this year giving Binay a hefty competition.

Meanwhile, Liberal Party’s “Sentimental Choice” DILG Sec. Mar Roxas is in the 3rd spot with 19% followed by Senator Miriam Defensor – Santiago with 10%.

Other names who made it in the top 10 were:

Sen. Chiz Escudero – 9%
Mayor Joseph Estrada – 9%
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte – 5%
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV – 5%
Sen. Bongbong Marcos – 3%
Sen. Alan Cayetano – 3%

Fifteen months before the 2016 elections, these numbers are still bound to change especially with the ongoing investigations.
