AlDub sets new record, reaches 12 million tweets

The AlDub love team of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) continues to soar as they set new Twitter record of more than 12M million tweets for the hashtag #AlDubMostAwaitedDate.

In Eat Bulaga’s Saturday (September 19, 2015) episode of KalyeSerye’s wherein the two characters finally went on with their first date garnered more that 12 million tweets as of past 11pm (Manila time).

For two months now, the phenomenal love team have already scored back to back record breaking twitter trends which even prompted Guinness Book of World Records to consider giving them the World Record for Fastest Trending Topic.

In today’s episode which break their own record on twitter, Alden and Yaya Dub gave another “kilig” moments to the viewers as they had their frist date. But as usual Lola Nidora get in their way again when Yaya Dub had to end the date because she need to give Lola her medicine.

When Aldub reached their 6 million tweets many thought it was the highlight of the phenomenon, but now that they continue to break their own world record, seemed the phenomenon is yet to dry out. The only question now is for how long can it be sustained knowing the attention span of Filipino netizens. But one thing is for sure, AlDub phenomenon will be there for the book and will be part of the Philippine pop culture history.
