A group of Pinoy hackers, Anonymous Philippines hacked the Twitter account of Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub.
Netizens especially AlDub fans were confused and shocked about Maine’s tweet on the early morning of Tuesday November 3. This writer initially thought Maine was tapped by Anonymous Philippines to tweet about their Million Mask March. With Maine’s online influence, it will be easy for Anon PH to get their message accross. But apparently it was Anon PH themselves who tweeted the message after hacking Yaya Dubs Twitter.
Because of the incident furious AlDub fans called out Anonymous Philippines and their wrong way of getting noticed. Netizens on Facebook slammed Anon PH for resorting to hacking instead of just asking help from AlDub nation. Many also said the intention may be correct but the means they’ve used was very wrong. Others even insinuated Anon PH was paid by rivals of AlDub because Maine’s Twitter account became one of the fastest growing twitter accounts in the world.
But Anon PH quickly belied those accusations saying they only used Yaya Dub’s account because it has the capability to reach many people. They also denied being paid by some quarters to hack the twitter account of Maine.
Here are the statements by Anonymous Philippines posted on their Facebook page.
