Nike on Wednesday September 7,2016 has announced the cancellation of Lebron James’ scheduled Manila event. James is supposed to be in the country on September 8 and 9 for his “Battle the Doubt” Asian tour.
In a statement, Nike said they apologized to the number of James’ fans for the unfortunate event. They cited logistical problem in coming up with the decision to cancel the tour. They also added that they look forward to have a event in another date in the future.
James’ visit could be his 3rd time in Manila following his “Witness Tour” in 2013 and “Rise Beyond Belief” in 2015. No specific details on the cancellation was given by Nike except logistical problems. He was supposed to hold a Bootcamp and the Battle the Doubt Night event in his 2016 Manila tour.
Here’s their official statement on the cancellation.
“Due to logistical challenges Nike has made the difficult decision to cancel the Manila portion of LeBron Jame’ Asia Tour. We apologize to all the fans in the Philippines and will look forward to reschedule the tour in the future.
Thank you for your interest and support for the LeBron James Manila Tour 2016 media conference and the Battle of the Doubt Night event on 8 September at Araneta Coliseum. We look forward to working with you again soon.”
