tulongnatakbonaMonths after the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda, government and private sectors are still working hand in hand on the rehabilitation of communities directly and badly affected by the storm. As part of their commitment to help families and communities of the affected areas, DZMM organized a color fun run aimed at supporting the education of deserving children from Yolanda hit areas.

DZMM has been doing Takbo para sa Karunungan for years, but this color fun run is their first, first single category, first time in BGC and first to be organized with Run Rio. The color fun run will be a 5KM run to be held in Bonifacion Global City on May 4, 2014 at 4AM.

Registration fee costs 650 pesos which includes the Race Kit (Singlet, Timing Chip, Bib Number). All runners will receive bull cap, towel and drinks after the run. Registration sites are available on the following areas:

1) ABS-CBN Tulong Center, Lopez Drive, Quezon City 
2) Toby’s SM North EDSA The Block
3) Toby’s SM Mall of Asia
4) R.O.X. Bonifacio High Street


Manny Pacquiao gives Bradley his 1st loss

Manny has again made history for himself; after losing to a controversial split decision in 2012, Pacman was able to avenge himself and came out victorious in their rematch. With this win, he became he first boxer to give Timothy Bradley his first ever loss.

Days before the fight, boxing analyst are split on whose gonna win between the 2 fighters. Some are saying Manny will reclaim the title because of the urge to redeem himself while others bet on Bradley because of his current stance.

But come fight night, Manny’s determination to win was very evident. One can easily see in him the urge and hunger to win and avenge his controversial loss. Although Bradley tried to match Pacman’s speed, Pacquaio definitely outclassed Bradley in this rematch. You can see how Manny smartly prepared to win the fight. And the spirit of a champion is definitely radiating in him.

Resign or Expel Petition vs “Pork Senators” : Be counted

nsMImoeWFZNErxT-556x313-noPadMonths after the success of Million People March in Luneta, Scrap Pork Network is again asking concerned Filipinos to join hands and take part in another cause that will continue the fight for justice against the PDAF scam.

In a petition  coursed through the online petition site Change.org, Scrap Pork Network asks Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Ramon Revilla Jr and Juan Ponce – Enrile to “resign immediately…because honor must be restored in the Senate”. This is after the Ombudsman has found probable cause to file plunder and graft and corruption charges against the 3 senators.

10 years of iBlog and how blogging evolved

iblog10a10 years of something is always a milestone worth celebrating, especially to an organization or an event which aims to inspire and encourage people.

Last Saturday (April 5, 2014) I had the opportunity again to attend the annual iBlog summit which is celebrating their 10th year. Together with friends Nixon, Val, Dan and Gab, we trooped UP Diliman to take part in the milestone of Philippine Blogging Summit. We arrived at the Malcolm Hall of UP College of Law just in time for its start. And after finding comfortable spot at the middle row of the auditorium, its then time to listen to their notable speakers.

With the aid of my ever reliable iPad mini and Cherry Mobile phone, I started documenting iBlog’s Day 2. The whole day event gave me so much information about how blogging has transformed over the decade.

Supreme Court upholds constitutionality of RH Law

scupholdsrhlawAfter passing into law last December 2012, RH Law is yet to be implemented because of several petitions filed on the Supreme Court questioning its constitutionality. But it seemed heaven is again favoring its faithful RH advocates as the Supreme Court upholds its constitutionality just today.

In a press briefing held at the Supreme Court office in Baguio City today, SC spokesperson Justice Theodore Te, declared “RH Law is NOT UNCONSTITUTIONAL” with exception to some provisions in Section 7 and 23. Te also said that the SC unanimously voted for the RH Law’s constitutionality except for some provisions that were struck down where there were dissenting opinions.

ABS-CBN unveils 2014 Summer Station ID “PINASmile”

With PAG-ASA’s announcement last Wednesday that Summer in the Philippines has officially started, ABS-CBN today launched it’s annual summer station ID.

Titled as “PINASmile: Masaya muli ang kwento natin”, the music video again showcased ABS-CBN’s roster of superstars, news personalities and ordinary Filipino who were shown flashing their most precious smiles. The theme song which was written by Robert Labayen and Team CCM with music from Bojam and Tyro Alfaro was sung by the teen King and Queen, Daniel Padilla and Katryn Bernardo.

This year’s ABS-CBN’s summer station ID aimed at showcasing the Philippines as great travel destination and a nation of great people with great smiles in spite of what we have experienced last year.

As always ABS-CBN again comes up with a great station ID, which does not only caters to entertain people but to give hope and inspiration.

OPMFriday presents Ang Iyong Paglaya by Jerome Cleofas

This week another pride of SoundCloud Philippines will be put on spotlight as #OPMFriday pays tribute to the musical genius Sir Jerome Cleofas. Jerome is one of the most prolific singer songwriters in the pool of SoundCloud Philippines artist. He has done many great songs which was hailed and praised by many. He was also the person behind the viral song Paki-Explain Labyu inspired by Social Media Character Donya Ina.

But this Friday, I would like to feature one of his most covered songs, “Ang Iyong Paglaya”. This song was a hit among the SoundCloud Philippines community having I think 20 versions from different SCPhils Artists. As of writing the song has already garnered 7,613 plays and was reposted 116 times.
