JR is the 1st Masterchef Pinoy Edition Grand Winner

After several months of competition inside the Pinoy Masterchef kitchen, the most awaited finale comes to the end.

At the live cook-off today, held at the Skydome of SM North Edsa, the 3 Pinoy Masterchef finalists vied for their dream of being declared as the 1st Pinoy Masterchef Grand Winner. And among the top 3, JR Royol was declared the winner besting the 2 ladies Carla Marcaida and Ivory Yat.

The finale, hosted by Judy Anne Santos-Agoncillo along with the 3 Chef judges Chef Ferns, Chef Jayps and Chef Lau, started with the 4 finalists which includes Myra Santos. But after the judges revealed the scores of the 2-phase final cooking challenged held earlier this week in one of the biggest coconut plantation in the country, Myra was declared the 4th placer for getting the lowest score of 75.75%.

After the announcement of the 4th placer, the 3 remaining finalists battled it out on the live cook-off. Present also as guest judges were Kris Aquino and Richard Gomez. And at the end of their cooking battle JR emerged as the winner and was declared the 1st Masterchef Pinoy Edition Grand winner with the score of 96.1%. Carla followed in 2nd with 93.9% and Ivory was declared the 3rd placer with 93%.

JR took home 1 million pesos in cash from Claro Cooking oil plus culinary scholarship at Center for Asian Culinary Studies and kitchen showcase from Whirlpool. Carl, Ivory and Myra also got cash prizes of 500,000Php, 300,000Php and 200,000Php respectively plus scholarship also from Center for Asian Culinary Studies and kitchen showcase from Fujidenzo.
