“Akala nyu kayo lang ang may picture kasama parents nyu ha :)) pero ma pa this is for the both of you i hope that you are proud of me :))” – Kevin Villanueva
If we will look at the picture on its face value, it’s just a simple photo of a young man who graduated from college. And since it’s graduation season, it nothing but normal for Facebook to be bombarded by different grad pics. But this picture is different, as it eludes touching story, inspiration and optimism.
This is the viral photo of Kevin Villanueva, a graduate student of Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros Manila taken at the grave of his parents. The photo went viral on Facebook because of the message the picture conveys. As of writing it already has 2,888 shares and 563 likes on Kevin’s personal Facebook account and 12,830 shares with 193,879 likes (and still counting) on Fhejhe Pasalgon’s FB Page.
Just like the comments of people who also shared and liked this photo, this is really moving. While other teenagers will whine or rant because they don’t have their parents on their graduation day, this positive outlook of Kevin is a testimony that we can be happy with our achievements despite the physical absence of our love ones. I’m sure his parents are really proud of him watching him over where ever they are.
This can also be a reminder to all people especially the youth, to value of the importance of their parents most especially those parents who worked hard day and night just to give their children a better future through education.
Congratulations Kevin Villanueva not only for graduating in college but also for setting an example and inspiration to all students and youth to be positive in life and for showing the importance of valuing and parents not only when they are with us but more so in their absence.

Ah, it is always nice to see young people who nurture a grateful heart. I’m sure his parents are beaming with pride and smile from up above.
